Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., House Dems aim to raise minimum wage
- $7.25 the current minimum wage was set by Congress in 2007 with the passage of a bill raising the minimum by $2.10
- $10.00 the proposed new minimum in Rep. Jackson’s ‘Catching up to 1968 Act’, which he introduced Wednesday; think it’ll pass? source
I can’t imagine a $10 minimum wage bill passing. Look, I worked for $5.15 for, like, 2 years. And although I would be ECSTATIC to be promised $10 right off the bat, there are too many “low qualification” jobs out there to warrant $10 an hour, at least in the eyes of small business owners. They will certainly be up in arms about this if it passes.
Wait… am I being political? That’s weird. PUPPY!
